Who We Are
BPMA is a volunteer-led professional association serving Greater Boston's Product Management and Product Marketing communities. We are dedicated to developing the careers of Boston-area product managers and marketers through monthly events and workshops, job listings, mentorship programs, and other resources. Sharpen your skills, learn about emerging trends, and connect with other product innovators in our community. You can connect with us through Groups, engage with us through Monthly Events and additional offerings, learn from our community through the ProductHub blog, and advance your career or build your team through the Career Center.
Boston Women in Product (BWP) is a community that empowers women to be influencers in their role inspiring them to make a difference and grow in their career. Our mission is to inspire, equip and help advance women in product by encouraging career leadership, development, support, mentoring, and building relationships with like-minded women. Learn more on our groups page or on the BWP meetup page
Our Product Executives Forum provides a regular opportunity for senior product leaders to network and discuss issues that are of importance to those running product organizations through facilitated breakfast discussions. This is an exclusive, by invitation only program for senior executives. Some of the topics that we address each month are:
- Organizing a product marketing/product management team for success
- Measuring the effectiveness of product management
- Moving from selling products to providing solutions
- Strategic pricing
- Interacting effectively with other groups
- Enabling the sales organization to sell value, not product features
Have you been to a BPMA Monthly Event lately? On the third Thursday of each month, the Boston-area product community gathers to network, learn, and engage with peers and industry thought leaders. Featuring a different location each month in Boston and its surroundings, we'll be in your neck of the woods soon. Check out our upcoming events, and join us for an enlightening and enjoyable evening!
Some of our past events:
- Hunt for Product Value with Stakeholders hosted at Localytics
- Defining Success Metrics and Measuring Value hosted at General Assembly
Learn from industry leaders with the Practitioner's Workshop series! For your continuing and intensive professional development, workshops are typically conducted on the second Friday of the scheduled month. Leading consultants conduct half-day "roll up your sleeves” sessions in their areas of specialization in a classroom setting with 10-25 students. Practitioner's Workshop participants explore themes such as:
- Conducting Customer Interviews
- Solutions pricing strategy
- Value proposition development
The Mentorship Program consists of six-month, one-on-one sessions between product professionals for career guidance and expertise. The mentors and mentees, as well as the alumni of past programs, meet twice during the year for group advisory sessions.
The mentors include VP and C-level executives from 100+ employee companies, as well as Director level and above executives from 1000+ employee companies.
The Coaching Track is a blend of programming and one-on-one meetings with product professionals who can enable those looking to get into the profession with knowledge, experience, advice, and other connections.
