About the Topic

ASP-Boston hosts a monthly morning session on the first Tuesday of the month.

On behalf of ASP-Boston, BPMA extends a special invitation to join in an interesting presentation and conversation with Neil Smith, co-founder of Equity Metrics.

Is your company’s value at risk? How will you know whether you are creating or destroying value? Companies have business systems to manage operational risk. Yet, they are challenged to identify how business decisions impact shareholder value.

This event focuses on how CEOs can gain perspective to the changing states of their business' value and actively manage it.

When everyone in an organization, including external advisers, understand how to connect their work effort to a CEO's clearly defined value creation strategy; this improves decision-making and strengthens shareholder value.

At this event, we will discuss:
  • The modern role of the professional CEO
  • Contextualize what business value really means
  • The reasons for the "business value information gap”
  • The difference between business strategy and a value creation strategy
  • The need for CEOs to gain perspective about the risk associated to the changing states of their business' value
  • How CEOs utilize business value information to establish a value creation strategy, improve business

Neil Smith
Co-Founder, Equity Metrics

Neil Smith is co-founder of Equity Metrics. Since 2002, Equity Metrics has provided investment banking and value creation advisory services to help CEOs strengthen their business’ value and monetize their shareholders’ equity interests. From 2002-2005, the Company built an internal, software application to address business value challenges that arose from its advisory clients. In 2005, Equity Metrics began its enterprise software research and design in response to client requests for self-service, value creation applications. In 2008, the Company launched its commercial software development to build an enterprise-class platform with value intelligence applications.

CEOs seek to understand how their decisions impact business value. These decisions permeate strategy, operations, M&A, corporate financing, risk management, compensation, alliances, etc. As the leading expert on business value intelligence, Equity Metrics commercialized a web-based, value intelligence software platform in 2011.

Equity Metrics’ software, advisory and senior executive education services focus CEOs on opportunities and risks that impact the business’ value.

For 20 years prior to Equity Metrics, Neil held management and team-lead roles with IBM, Oracle and other privately-held software companies focused on web-based enterprise applications.
