About the Topic

ASP-Boston hosts a monthly morning session on the first Tuesday of the month.

On behalf of ASP-Boston, BPMA extends a special invitation to join in an interesting presentation and conversation with Grace Velardi of Earthwatch Insitute.

We live in an era marked by intense financial scrutiny, with increased demand for return on investment for resources entrusted to charitable institutions. At the same time, businesses are increasingly expected to participate in solving the world’s social problems.

Corporations that want to set themselves apart in their corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs know they need to think and act strategically, and organizations that make charitable contributions – or those that are planning to – need to be doing more than just giving money away. For corporate philanthropy to be effective, it is important to embed a well developed strategy within a company’s core mission, and manage for maximum impact.

In this interactive session we will discuss corporate philanthropy in the context of CSR, and how a successful program ties to the strategic business planning process. Citing examples from several specific case studies, this presentation will also assess current practices and measurement trends.
