Big Data and Product Development: A Panel Discussion

Moderator: Colin Mahony - VP|GM at Vertica, an HP Company

Panelists: Justin Borgman - Co-founder and CEO at Hadapt, Jeff Boehm - VP Global Product Marketing at QlikTech, Puneet Batra - Chief Data Scientist at Kyruus, Trevor Bass - Manager, Business Intelligence Group at Litle & Co.

Big Data may be trending but best practices for business intelligence have been quietly developing for decades. A panel of experts with over forty years of combined experience will discuss how insights from data analytics can help you add product value and drive business discovery.

Zettabytes of data are being collected every year, but is it helping us achieve our business objectives? Is it improving people's lives? Or is it, as big data blogger Avinash Kaushik quips, just "data puking"? This event will help you see and tap into the huge value potential of large data sets to your customers as well as identify the pitfalls of providing information without structure.

Key insights include:

  • Starting small with big data - where to begin
  • Use cases for better customer engagement
  • Wrapping value into existing products with business intelligence
  • Adopting analytics at every level in your organization (data democracy)
