Second Annual PRODiE Awards

The contestants in the second annual PRODiE Awards will present their products and how they successfully applied product management principles. Professor Tom Eisenmann, Harvard Business School

Thomas R. Eisenmann is the Howard H. Stevenson Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School and Faculty Co-Chair of the HBS Rock Center for Entrepreneurship. He studies the management of new ventures. Eisenmann teaches two MBA elective courses: Product Management 101, in which students specify and supervise development of a software application, and Entrepreneurial Sales & Marketing, in which project teams take actions to help a startup acquire customers. In recent years, Eisenmann has served as Chair of Harvard's MBA Elective Curriculum—the second year of the MBA Program—and as course head of The Entrepreneurial Manager, taught to all 900 first-year MBA students. He twice co-led a Harvard Innovation Lab course, Cultural Entrepreneurship in New York City, in which students from across Harvard spent a winter break week in New York exploring new ventures in fashion, food, and fine arts, and co-led four similar winter break trips to Silicon Valley. Eisenmann also created the MBA electives Launching Technology Ventureswhich examines challenges that entrepreneurs encounter when starting and scaling new information technology businesses, andManaging Networked Business (now called The Online Economy), which surveys strategies for platform-based businesses that leverage network effects.

Carol Meyers, Chief Marketing Officer, Rapid7

Carol brings extensive marketing and sales expertise to her role at Rapid7, along with proven success driving technology companies to growth. Previously, she served as CMO at LogMeIn, Inc. and Unica Corporation (acquired by IBM), and VP of Sales for Shiva Corporation (acquired by Intel), and has held roles in sales, marketing and finance at Lotus (acquired by IBM) and GE. In addition to Carol’s role as a marketing executive, she also serves on the advisory boards of DUO Security, SocialRep, and WordStream, and is on the board of directors for MineralTree.
 
Mike Putnam, SVP Marketing American Well

Mike Putnam leads consumer marketing for American Well, a world leader in telehealth solutions that allows consumers to see live doctors via mobile apps. Mike is an entrepreneurial leader in marketing, mobile and product management with deep experience in the consumer mobile industry, having led mobile for TripAdvisor, Rue La La, and KAYAK.  Mike was a founder of the mobile program at TripAdvisor where he drove rapid growth, from 1M unique visitors in January 2010, to more than 20M in Q1 2012. Much of this traffic was from apps, with TripAdvisor announcing the 15M app download milestone in February 2012. Before joining TripAdvisor, Mike founded Zeer, the easy way to find better food. Zeer was named a Top 50 website in 2008 byTime.com, won the inaugural Inbound Marketing Award from Hubspot, and launched its first iPhone application in April 2009.


Bruce McCarthy, Founder & CEO, UpUp Labs

Having spent a lifetime as a builder and innovator, Bruce has a passion for understanding customer needs and creating compelling solutions. He has founded three companies and has led teams in organizations ranging from startups to market leaders such as Art Technology Group, Oracle and D&B. His executive-level positions include, most recently, VP of Product at NetProspex. He has demonstrated his leadership in areas ranging from marketing to acquisitions (on both sides of the table) to product management and development. A dedicated evangelist for better products and product management, Bruce founded UpUp Labs in 2012. Through it, he offers consulting services and applies his expertise to building innovative new product management tools like Reqqs the forthcoming smart roadmapping tool. Bruce is also a prolificblogger on product management topics, as well as an organizer and popular speaker at product management, development, and innovation events.

Cost:

Premium Members: Free if you pre-register online at least one day prior to event or $10 at the door
Basic Members: $25 if you pre-register and pay online at least one day prior to event or $35 at the door
Non-Members: $35 if you pre-register and pay online at least one day prior to event or $45 at the door
 
Parking Information:

Metered parking is available for $1.25 per hour in the i-lab parking lot (entrance on Western Ave to the west of the i-lab). Free parking is also available on Western Ave.  Please do not park in the lot in front of the i-lab.
