Publication Date June 30, 2013

Abstract: In BPMA’s July workshop, Alyssa Dver will provide useful tools for managers and business owners to evaluate all aspects of product marketing. This blog provides some background information in preparation for this event.

Category: Product Marketing & Demand Creation

One of the key aspects of product marketing is a clear and coherent position message. Steve Johnson of Pragmatic Marketing describes how to produce this kind of product positioning message in his article, A Look at Clarity in Positioning.

For a description of the "nuts and bolts” of a product marketing job, Business Week has a compelling "Day in the Life” series on various professions. In A Day In The Life: Product Marketing Manager, the article follows Daniel Helmhold as he navigates his new job in Product Marketing at a san Francisco gaming software company. The comments from the (mostly) gamers at the end of the article are interesting customer feedback, and a good example of community marketing.

The July BPMA Practitioners Workshop will cover these subject and more. Register today.
