Category:Leadership, Management & Networking
The October BPMA Event will be a little different from previous programs in that John Mansour will "reveal” his formula for balancing the daily grind of product management with new practices that help product managers and product marketers have a greater strategic impact. This post will not steal John’s thunder about "the Fun Stuff”, rather it will discuss some of the day-to-day product management activities. This should provide some context for applying John’s methods.
For a light-heated look at the many roles of a software product managers, check out A Day In the Life of the Cranky Product Manager on the Website of the same name. The activities and related frustrations are relevant to any kind of product management.
For a more serious look at the PM function, Are Your Product Managers Doing What You Need? on the Product Arts Website discusses the multifaceted, almost schizophrenic nature of the product management role. Depending on the organization, these activities can include everything from Technical Support to Advertising. The quantity and variability of these can be a source of frustration for any professional, especially if the roles are not well defined by management.
Please join John Mansour at the offices of BPMA Sponsor Constant Contact for what should be a very entertaining program.
