2026 Board of Director Elections

As a volunteer-led organization, BPMA relies on the Boston area's talented product community to drive our success. That means you!

We are now accepting nominations for the 2026 BPMA Board of Directors.

Give back and connect with other leaders in the Boston area product management and product marketing community. Board members help chart the course of the BPMA, one of the most active product management associations in the US. Learn more below and please let us know if you have any questions.

Key Dates

  • Self nomination deadline is Sunday, November 2.
  • Candidate online interviews with the nomination committee take place in November.
  • Board members are elected and published in December.

Take the Next Step

BPMA board members make a commitment to the BPMA and its initiatives to grow and develop its members' careers. We also make a commitment to our fellow board members with thoughtful and timely collaborations and communication. Therefore, please apply if and only if you know you have the time to serve this commitment to the organization and its people. Most roles require 10 hour monthly time commitments spread across individual team leadership, board director meetings and engaging with our member community.

The open positions and duties are listed below:

Board Role - Membership Value

Though delivering member value is a responsibility of everyone on the BPMA board, this role is the lynchpin. Ensure that all of the BPMA functions are working in concert to give our members what they are seeking from our organization. As Product Managers, ensure we are practicing what we preach!

Opportunities

  • Practice and hone your Product Management skills by training them on us!
  • Build close connections with the Board and membership community.

Responsibilities

  • Define and measure what “member value” means for BPMA.
  • Lead initiatives to improve member engagement, retention, and satisfaction.
  • Analyze membership data and feedback to inform strategy.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on messaging and onboarding that is attuned to members' current needs.
  • Manage renewals and benefits with Technology support.

Board Role - Director(s) of Marketing & Communications

This is a critical role to our organization, overseeing a team of volunteers that execute much of what our members experience as BPMA outside of events!

Opportunities

  • Oversee a team of creative, passionate individuals that are in it to do great things for our members.
  • Put your mark on the blogs, newsletters, and other collateral that our members see every day.
  • Author content (i.e. blog posts, videos, etc.) that serve the BPMA and can also augment your own portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Design & execute marketing initiatives to drive awareness & membership.
  • Recruit and manage volunteer team.
  • Manage event promotion, including partner programs, sponsor programs, and workshops(with Director of Program Planning).
  • Create marketing collateral to support initiatives.
  • Distribute weekly newsletters on time: promote BPMA events and programs, create unique content, maintain clean and eye-catching formatting.
  • Maintain social media accounts (Linkedin).
  • Maintain BPMA web content, including "Insights" (blog) -- authoring and recruiting content from experts.
  • Manage distribution of monthly PEF invitations.
  • Manage PEF distribution list.
  • Maintain integrity of email lists in Constant Contact.
  • Manage monthly theme conversation with Event and Blog teams.

Estimated Time Commitment: 10-15 hrs/month

Board Role - Partnerships and Sponsorships

A major part of our member value are our connections to other areas of the regional and national Product community. This position is responsible for initiating and managing these relationships between BPMA and both sponsors and partners.

  • Connect with other major influences in the product management community.
  • Be behind great sources of member value.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with sponsors and partners.
  • Secure sponsorships to fund programs and events.
  • Develop partnership agreements aligned with BPMA’s brand and mission.
  • Collaborate with Events and Marketing on sponsor visibility and integration.
  • Track and report sponsorship revenue and renewals.

Estimated Time Commitment: 10 hrs/month
